Ingredients
1 tablespoon fresh ginger root, peeled and sliced (or 1 tsp ground ginger)
2 cups water
Juice of ½ a lemon (optional for detox)
1 teaspoon raw honey (optional for soothing throat)
A pinch of black pepper (boosts absorption)
Optional: cloves, or a dash of turmeric for extra health perks
Directions
- Wash and Peel: Clean your ginger thoroughly and peel off the skin.
- Blend or Grate: Chop the ginger into small pieces and blend with a little water or grate it finely.
- Boil: Pour into a pot, add more water, and bring to a boil for about 15–20 minutes.
- Strain: Use a sieve to strain out the juice into a clean jug.
- Flavor (Optional): Add lemon juice, turmeric, cloves or honey to taste. You can also chill and enjoy it cold.
